Faith Climate Action Week 2017  April 17 -23

Faith Climate Action Week (Previously known as the Preach-In) will encompass seven days in April surrounding Earth Day. The theme is “Act on Climate” and will focus on how we can take action to protect our climate laws, and encourage our senators to share their climate action plans. 2016 National Preach-In on Global Warming

The annual Preach-In on Climate Change, sponsored by Interfaith Power and Light moved from its traditional Valentine’s weekend to Earth Week, April 15-April 24, 2016.

OhIPL held a rally on the Statehouse lawn to draw attention to the need for clean energy and energy efficiency standards. See “In the News” for articles about this rally.

Faith Communities Send Prayers for Climate Action-2015

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2015 National Preach-In on Global Warming. Interfaith Power & Light’s campaign for climate healing and action over Valentine’s Day involved over 500,000 people of faith, many of them joining Saturday’s synchronized climate prayer, others giving sermons and talks, and still more holding discussions and gathering signatures on Love Creation climate action postcards to send to senators.

“There was something very powerful about knowing that people across the country were praying about this issue at the same time,” said Interfaith Power & Light founder, The Rev. Canon Sally G. Bingham. “It was truly an interfaith, nationwide climate prayer to remind us to take seriously our responsibility to protect Creation.”
